Druglink article 1997 – New ideas in the field by Professor Philip Bean

With all the politicians out bidding each other as the ‘toughest on drugs’ it comes as something of a surprise to find that there are still a few new ideas doing the rounds in Westminster. Here we present two of the most topical: drug courts, which are being actively touted by all parties; and citizen’s juries, which could finally provide the solution to gauging public opinion more effectively than ever before.
