Bereavement
CRUSE Bereavement Care – A national charity set up to provide free confidential help to bereaved people. Cruse offers face-to-face support and produces a range of booklets on coping with grief. Helpline: 0844 4779400.
DrugFAM – DrugFam support those bereaved by drugs, alcohol, gambling and related causes. Their helpline, 0300 888 3853, is available between 9am and 9pm, seven days a week.

NHS Direct – This website provides a complete guide to conditions, symptoms and treatments, including what to do and when to get help. Call 111 to get non-urgent medical help straight away.

Shelter – Shelter have advice and support services which offer one-to-one, personalised help with housing issues and homelessness. Their emergency helpline – 0808 800 4444 – is open 365 days a year to answer calls from anyone struggling with a housing issue or homelessness.

Mental Health
MIND – Mind is a mental health charity working to create a better life for everyone who experiences mental distress. Their Infoline – 0300 123 3393 – provides an information and signposting service. It is open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Samaritans – Samaritans provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide. National helpline – 116 123 You can call for free, day or night, 365 days a year.
Saneline – Offers practical information, crisis care and emotional support to anybody affected by mental health problems. Although the usual SANEline number cannot operate at the moment, you can leave a message on 07984 967 708 giving your first name and a contact number, and someone will call you back as soon as practicable.

Relate – Relate offer a range of services to help you with your couple and family relationships.
