Funding problems are particularly acute in this area, and it is recommended that combined local budgets are explored to remedy this situation. Shared care arrangements are also considered as is professional training. Finally, the BMA urges that the AIDS budget be expanded to accommodate Hepatitis and that a national replacement for the Addict Index is urgently found.
