Major tranquillisers

What are Major tranquillisers?

Major tranquillisers are often called antipsychotic drugs or neuroleptics. They are hardly ever used as street drugs.

Antipsychotics are primarily used to manage psychosis, including delusions, hallucinations, paranoia or disordered thought such as in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Examples include Chlorpromazine (Largactil) and Haloperidol.
