What is Withdrawal?

Withdrawal is the body’s reaction to the sudden absence of a drug to which the user has become physically dependent. The effects can be stopped either by taking more of the drug, or by going ‘cold turkey’, completely doing without the drug. Not having the drug often makes the user feel ill with flu like symptoms for at least a week. This usually takes the form of shivering, shaking, aching joints, nose running etc.
